Accent Modification
Grow Your Voice Speech Therapy offers accent modification services. Accent modification means making changes to the pronunciations of some of your sounds, as well as stress and intonation patterns, to be more clearly understood and to sound more like a native North American English speaker. I work with lots of clients who tell me that they are frustrated by constantly being asked, "Where are you from?" Or being told, "I like your accent." Accent modification reduces the occurrence of these types of comments. Some clients want to sound as close to a native English speaker as possible, others just want to make sure that they are clearly understood. No matter what your ultimate goal is, I can help you with your pronunciation of North American English.

The linguistic/regional backgrounds that I have the most experience with include: Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Filipino, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Arabic, Nigerian, Vietnamese, and many more!

Sessions can be individual or group. Individual sessions can be virtual or in person (located in Goose Bay, NL), while group course sessions will be offered virtually only. Group course sessions will begin in September 2025. If group accent modification sessions are of interest to you, please reach out to let me know. If there is a high demand, these sessions may be able to begin sooner.
Do you have friends or family with similar language backgrounds who would be interested in taking sessions together? As a more economical option, semi-private or small group sessions may be possible.
